Everton, once again, started without a recognised striker as Lampard’s men lined up in a 3-4-3 formation. Anthony Gordon was once again given the command to lead the attack. In the last phase of the match, Lampard changed the line-up to 3-4-1-2. Conor Coady made his league debut for Everton.
